Looking for Windows 10 Lock Screen Images

If you have this default Windows 10 setting, then on the lock screen, the default image from Microsoft will appear. Some of these high quality photos consist of nature as well as major cities around the world. Images will change several times a day, but what if you see an image you like and want to save a copy of it? Windows stores these photos in a hidden directory. But with a little digging, you can find it.

Here's how to find the Windows 10 lock screen image:

1. Click “View” in File Explorer.

2. Click “Options”.

3. Click the “view” tab.

4. Select “Show hidden files, folders and drives”, then click “Apply”.

5. Navigate to This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Users > [USERNAME] > AppData > Local > Packages > Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy > LocalState > Assets

You will see a lot of weird file names and no extensions. There's no way to tell which file contains the image, but choose the item with the larger file size.

6. Copy the latest file with a larger size to a new folder.

7. Rename the file and add the .jpg extension to the end of the file name.

Now you can see the image in the image viewer.

Please note that Microsoft may add or remove any of these images at any time. So if you see an image you like, make a copy before it's gone.
