How to Make a List of Installed Programs in Windows 10

If a serious problem occurs on your windows computer, the best solution to fix it is to reinstall windows. But it's a good idea to make a list of the programs that have been installed now first, so you know what to re-install later.

Here's how to list the programs installed on Windows 10:

Use PowerShell Command

1. Open PowerShell by typing “PowerShell” in the start menu search section. Select the first option that appears and you will see a blank PowerShell prompt.

4. To export the list to a new file, you can use the > symbol and add the path to the new file you want to create. For example:

Get-ItemProperty HKLM:\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\* | Select-Object DisplayName, DisplayVersion, Publisher, InstallDate | Format-Table –AutoSize > Desktop/InstalledPrograms-PS.txt
